About a year ago, after a long day in the studio, Ziggy Alberts played a newly recorded track, “New Love,” in his van at the beach. The song brought an overwhelming sense of joy, and in that moment, he was told that a close friend and his wife were expecting a baby—a perfect reflection of ‘New Love.’ It was one of those rad moments of synchronicity that seem to happen time and time again in the foiling community.
Fast forward to a month ago, with about 10 foilers cutting laps one afternoon, a huge bait ball moved in, sending the sharks into a frenzy—almost beaching themselves, jumping, and stirring up the lineup. @foiltheworld watched, wide-eyed, as the crew took turns catching waves while foils sliced through the water. After one last ride, most called it a day, heading to the bench to swap stories over a few well-earned tins.
Not Ziggy. He stayed out, nailing three more laps in the golden light, completely in his element—one with the ocean, its creatures, and the life he’s created!
