At A Glance
Depending on where you paddle a bit of warmth can often be a welcome thing. The SUP Neoprene Top Airmax from Prolimit is designed to provide you with warmth while still being able to handle the odd wipeout. Made from high-quality 1mm thick, soft AirFlex 550+ neoprene the quality is very apparent. Airmax vented side panels are there to regulate temperature and make the top highly mobile. There is a full-length front zipper, a rear pocket for snacks and small items and it offers UPF 50+ UV protection.
On The Water
This is a very comfortable top to wear; it slips on easily and feels light on your shoulders. It’s worth noting this isn’t a “wetsuit” top; the warmth comes from it being dry, in the most part, however, if you do fall in it dries very quickly and is far more effective than wearing a hoody! If you do fall in the jacket has a water repellent coating and dries exceedingly quickly.
On the inside, there is a Zodiac lining which is a fleecy material that adds extra warmth. Being able to unzip the front helps to regulate the temperature as you warm up and the jacket also packs down quite small so you can easily fit it in a small dry bag on your board. The mobility in the arms and shoulder area is fantastic thanks to the flexible nature of the neoprene and the cut of the jacket.
Overall
We’ve been guilty of wearing hoodies before and going with the “I won’t fall in” motto. This jacket is superior to that plan in so many ways it’s won a permanent place in the van and comes out whenever the air has a chill to it. Comfortable, light, warm and fast drying it’s a high-quality bit of kit that we love!
