At a Glance
The Core Halo is a high-performance wing for riders looking for the ultimate in performance. It’s packed with technology, with an Aluula leading edge and strut, giving it unrivalled stiffness. This is coupled with a lightweight carbon boom, reducing weight and adding stiffness and performance to your ride.
The canopy is made of Core’s proprietary CoreTex2 fabric, which minimises stretch and elongation while delivering lots of power. The fairly flat profile gives a hint of sporty characteristics, and three carbon battens help maintain the profile even at high speeds.
The overall quality and feel of the wing are everything you would expect from Core; the Halo Pro is finished to an incredibly high standard. Aimed at the rider looking to do it all, the wing is aimed at wave riders, freestylers and big air junkies alike, but it is sure to satisfy just about everyone in between too.

On The Water
The first thing you notice when you hold the Halo Pro is just how light it is. The carbon boom reduces the number of connection points and reinforcements needed on the strut, greatly reducing weight. The Aluula material needs no introduction, and its stiffness-to-weight profile is largely unmatched in the industry.
A light wing is always a joy to fly, and this is no different. It instantly feels balanced in your hands, and power is easy to develop. With a few pumps, you’re off and flying. The 4m we tested had a good low end, but more impressively, it seemed to have an endless top end, with lots of control felt even in gusty, overpowered conditions.
The flat profile develops lots of speed with minimal flutter from the stiff airframe and canopy, the wing feels solid and dependable rather than twitchy and unpredictable. This speed is great for blasting but also gives you a great platform for gaining speed and boosting into the air.
The stiff airframe keeps things steady in the air, and the wing doesn’t have much noticeable flex when you come in to land, allowing you to perform whatever tricks you desire confidently.
Getting on the wave and flagging out is a real pleasure, too. The balance is incredible, and the light nature lets you forget about the wing and concentrate on your carves. It is easy to chuck it around transitions, too, which is great when you are caught on the inside and need to change direction and get out of dodge quickly.
We have to dedicate a few words to the boom. If you haven’t used one, we recommend it. It opens up so many possibilities on the water. From the latest spiny tricks the groms are pulling to just cruising runs one-handed, it offers lots of tangible benefits. The only drawback is the size it packs down to, but you soon get used to this.
We are seeing more booms on the market now, and I think we will see more of them in the future, too. When they are as light, simple, and stiff as this one, they are a joy to use.
Overall
The Core Halo Pro is a high-performance wing that is sure to delight anyone who takes it for a spin. It is light, fast, stiff, and very versatile. The only thing holding you back here is you. It will handle the latest tricks and the biggest of airs with ease while still being able to rip along at speed and free-fly with total balance and control on the wave.
It gets a big thumbs up from us!
