In the exciting world of wingfoiling, changes and new ventures often send ripples throughout the industry. One such recent development has been the joining of Xavi Corr with the Armstrong Foils team! As Xavi gears up for this new phase, we got to sit down with him to discuss his favourite Armstrong Foils gear, his approach towards wingfoiling competitions and how this exciting new venture will pave the way for achieving his 2024 goals.

Congratulations on joining the Armstrong Foils team, Xavi! How do you feel about this new opportunity?

Thank you so much! I am truly thrilled and honoured to be part of the Armstrong Foils team. I look forward to the challenges and growth that lie ahead, and I am excited to be part of a company that is at the forefront of innovation in the industry.

What specific features of Armstrong Foils' equipment attracted you to their brand?

I was particularly drawn to their MA range; the MA 625 front wing is my favourite. Its impeccable design, blending carbon materials and advanced hydrodynamics, delivers an ideal balance of speed, stability, and manoeuvrability. The MA 625's adaptability to different riding styles and conditions aligns perfectly with my style. Also, the new Performance masts were a game-changer for me. The ultra stiffness allowed me to get more pop and control in the water.

Wingfoiling requires a combination of technical skills, physical fitness, and mental agility. How do you plan on preparing yourself for the upcoming competitions?

In preparing for the upcoming wingfoiling competitions, I've been going on the water at least four times a week, sometimes even more. Success in wingfoiling demands a blend of technical skills, physical fitness, and mental agility, and I strive for a balanced approach. Intensive training sessions are counterbalanced with recovery periods, ensuring my body remains in perfect condition.

How do you think being part of a team like Armstrong Foils will impact your overall wingfoiling journey? Are there any specific areas or skills you hope to focus on improving with their support?

Being part of the Armstrong Foils team, I'm getting all the cool tips and tricks to keep my gear top-notch, teaching me how to become a better tester in testing new foils and wings and figuring out how those minor tweaks can change everything. It also taught me how to ride better in waves and downwind.

Looking ahead to 2024, what are your goals?

I’m looking forward to 2024! My main goal is to hit the podium by the end of the year in wingfoiling freestyle. I'm also super keen on exploring new places. I want to start levelling up my waveriding skills, pushing the boundaries, and catching epic waves.

Lastly, is there anything else you want to share about this new chapter?

I can't wait to show you some new tricks and what I've been working on. I also can't wait to go to an exotic place with the Armstrong team and shoot some sick footage!
