There’s been some shouting on facebook recently round our way from the local surfing community about the increase in SUPs in the surf, especially some of the more iconic tourist beach breaks. This is a nice little article about the things to watch out for if you’re hitting the surf this season for the first time.
From our end, we would always recommend getting a bit of local knowledge with some surf guiding or instruction, and if the break is busy, just wait until everyone goes home for dinner, and crowds will soon thin out. Finally, a bit like crossing the road, always look twice for that airborn grom who you’ve probably just dropped in on!
