The inland lakes of Rhode Island were all frozen over, and the ocean crashed with February winds, so the saltwater lakes that opened up to the ocean, were our only chance for a calm paddle. How beautiful does that look?!
Maybe it was the excitement or the jet lag from our cross-country trip, but as we loaded into the car at 6 am, the 28-degree air didn’t seem so chilling.
