To say Nick Sacco and the crew make use of the ultra glide and pump ability of the HA1325 behind the boat is an understatement… they are so far behind the boat you can hardly see it!
The HA 1325 has freakish light wind performance and next-level pump and glide if you want to double-dip or link up micro swells; this wing keeps going. Developed with key design input from Pete Burling, Helmsman of Team New Zealand’s Americas Cup yacht (Current AC holders) and tested by legendary Sailor Jimmy Spithill. Pete, Armie and Jimmy became friends as foiling united their search and passion for ultimate performance and glide on downwind runs. The mad scientist and these high-performance sailing gurus have collaborated to create something the likes of which has not seen before outside America’s Cup! The HA1325 is the glide monster of all time! Winging, have you riding at high speed in light winds, glides forever for tacks and gybes. For sure suited to bigger riders, but anyone can make it turn…
The best way to exploit the potential of the HA range is to get the tail wing shimmed up. As the wingspan is so large you need to unlock the maneuverability potential by loosing up the tail. Shimming it will achieve this.
Using the 232 on the HA925 and above, we suggest at least a 0.5 shim and for super loose – a 1 + 0.5-degree shim … move the mast forward to correct the foot pressure.
Using the Flying V with the HA925 or above we suggest no shim for regular riders and for the loose feeling a 0.5 or next level a 1 degree!
